Crypt explaining about his policy to keep information as private and anonymous as possible

If you noticed on my previous posts, I kept the information as anonymous as possible, by posting only the necessary or intended information. I do this for a number of reasons, sometimes because I want to prevent from associating the unintended information with the intended information, other times because it happened personally. I always keep the information as anonymous and private as possible by only posting the information that’s relevant to the post without mixing any irrelevant or unintended information in, causing potential confusion. At other times, I do not intend to let others know to who or what the post is being targeted to.

On my PayPal experience case, the reason I didn’t post from which store I bought the order from is because they were never at fault for my experiences with PayPal didn’t want to mix them in, causing any form of confusion. The store’s customer care however, helped me out smoothly throughout my problem and I successfully placed the order I wanted later on. It is also my first online store purchase experience I’ve had.

On my directed rant case, I didn’t post any information about the person who I’m directing the rant at because that it only happened between us personally, and also the fact that it was at most of a bad time. I wasn’t ready to talk at the time about a topic which I cared at the time. His blatant threatening reaction however is what’s been affecting me from time to time. Obviously, I have to let my word go out, I couldn’t take it anymore.

Crypt explaining his last PayPal experience

Recently, I tried to made a purchase using my PayPal account, however before it could get through, the website tells me that PayPal couldn’t authorize my payment. I immediately went checked to check my PayPal account to find that the transaction was still in progress, so I went back to my purchase. While checking my purchase I learned that I never got an order number or anything, thus the message that PayPal couldn’t authorize my transaction was still there. So I went back to my PayPal account to check a little bit more to see what went wrong.

Suddenly while checking, I receive a message on the PayPal website telling that my account has been limited, telling me that I need to verify my order, so I went to the Resolution Center. Having no experience, I first placed my cell phone number. Cell phones are not accepted, so I went on to my Skype phone number. After a successful verification, it tells me it couldn’t match it with the public registry records or something, and that a confirmation mail has been sent to me.

So now that I knew I had to wait, I had some things I had to worry about. I have no previous experiences of a limited account, and I had a subscription payment, which was going to happen 3 days from the time it happened, in a weekend. Mail reaches 5 to 8 business days (which excludes weekends), which goes later than my subscription’s payment date. So I searched their help system to find if my account limitation affects subscription payments, but no avail, so I attempted to contact their support. All I get are automated or pre-written responses completely off-topic or partially answering my question, including one that tells me to go to the court and make a subpoena to get more information about the limitation.

After numerous emails and feeling uncomfortable, I decided to cancel my subscription and change my payment option to Credit Card, which went smoothly. During the time I sent a last email to paypal apologizing about my last email, as I was really frustrated and uncomfortable about it. It is when I receive a reply from someone who’s willing to help (too late). At the same time, I emailed my store for my order telling about the unauthorized transaction that happened during the purchase, and got it successfully canceled. I remade the order using the Credit Card option a week later, which went smoothly and successfully received the order.

At this time (a month later after the incident), I still haven’t received my street address verification / confirmation mail, therefore I’m deciding that I’ll no longer trust PayPal for my purchases. I ever get my account limitation over, all I’ll do is withdraw the money to my bank account, and use their services only if I really need to use it. I am pretty sure my address is very correct letter by letter and number by number, therefore there’s no reason for me not to have received the mail yet.

I feel that this account limitation is unfair and unjust and therefore, I’ll never ever forgive them for what they did and how they made me feel. I dislike their dodgy customer support and I’ll not attempt to do more of my business there. Reading about other people’s experiences deters me even more to use it.

Crypt ranting at some past experience

This is a rant about an experience that has been affecting for so long from time to time, so I decided to post to let my word out about it. Click to read ahead

Disclaimer: This rant is directed to someone from my past experiences. Under no circumstances I’m literally referring “you” to yourself, instead to the intended person.

This is something that’s been affecting me from time to time and still does, so I’ll just say it. That was something I do from time to time if I feel offended, and at that time it prompted me into posting the whole chat log. Yes I know of what we agreed, but I can no agree on it. I did it because I felt offended at the time, but your threatening actions after I did it was what affected me the most. I now learned that what you did was purely to hurt me emotionally and I will no longer tolerate such actions. If I feel offended again in any further chats or anything, be warned that I will do it again, but this time I won’t care about what you say after or anything. I’ll just strike back.

I also learned that at the time, I wasn’t actually ready to talk, but I forced myself into, therefore I’ll just forgive you a little about this, but I can’t forgive you completely. Next time I do it please keep in mind, to keep it calm or something. I had no intention to offend you or anything. My intention was only to only get some feedback of my experience at the time, which turn out it was my fault at most. You however, ruined it before I could even receive any feedback. If you want to know how much I reacted after you threatened for posting the chat log, I’ll show you an approximately 5 or 6 long posts thread with all my thoughts about you and everything. Be warned that this is a personal feeling and is to be kept private. Also, if you really expect the chat to be private, tell me so next time. I also keep in mind of both privacy and security, and under no reason or circumstances I will post any sensitive or identifying information.

Just remember, if I have to do it again, I will do it. I won’t hold back. What you did affected me so much and if it is to happen again, I will really strike hard. Be also warn that I keep all logs and data permanent (isn’t it somewhat the same you do on your website? in case you want to compare)

If you happen to read this, drop me an email

Disclaimer: This rant is directed to someone from my past experiences. Under no circumstances I’m literally referring “you” to yourself, instead to the intended person.

Welcoming members and introducing myself

Welcome to my new blogging website. As you’re seeing, I decided to start off this new blog as a way to express what I am doing and what I’m playing from time to time. I may post videos and screenshots of the games I play and will also be showing off some other stuffs I like about, like my computer skills, this server, linux skills, etc.

I like programming on C++, PHP, and I have a good experience. Since I was a kid, I’ve been programming from the age of 8. I started from QBasic, and slowly moved on to Visual Basic. At the time all I did was mostly fun stuffs, like editing samples and making my own programs, for any purpose I could find in my convenience. Then at University, I learned about C++. Due to my previous knowledge of programming, I passed those courses far too easy that I surprised most of the students. I later learned about Linux, which is by far what I really like a lot, Linux Administration. In fact, this blog is hosted on my server (VPS at this time). I learned from basic commands from University, then went all the way to managing services like web servers, doing more complex stuffs, including cron jobs, bash scripting, perl scripting, PHP scripting, well, lot of stuffs. I really do enjoy my time on these stuffs.

I also have experience on MySQL from University, even though I failed the course, my knowledge about SQL went exponential. The reason I failed was because the professor doesn’t know how to transmit his knowledge and instructions well enough and in an understandable way. I’ll be repeating the course of course, I’ll most likely surprise him. In fact, I did Internet Programming courses using MySQL as the backend to store all data.

Other stuffs I like include the internet itself, domains, networking, hardware, software, games, scripts, what else? we’ll find out as this blog goes.

Crypt explaining about his disappearing from the online world

Around February, I decided to stay offline and never came back online for the reason that I didn’t have any time to keep myself on at the time. No matter how much i tried i ended up being “away” for days and even weeks, and if I was online I could only stay for an hour or two, which I couldn’t really dedicate because of how short those times were, as I also needed to give some time to myself. So, I decided that it is time for me to forget about it and take some rest off the internet.

I didn’t leave any warning or notice about my decision of disappearing as I didn’t have any figure or idea of how long I’ll be needing before I can have time again. What’s affecting my time is a number of factors such as University and attending my family.

At this time, I’m not yet coming actively online as I would still have to struggle myself to find some time to stay online or anything. I may decide however, to come back online the way as I was before, but without forcing myself to do so, in other words, being online as I can only, without starting anything big or anything that requires my mind clear as it could be affected during the course of the time as the results of family interactions and possible inconveniences. I will however dedicate some of the time I have on this blog, and use it not only to express and show off what I’m doing and playing, but also as a portal of communications.

No, I’ll not be coming back to the guild or anything. At the time I also decided to leave, though again, unwarned and unnoticed. I will however accept being friends with individual members. Who knows, I might re-join but for some reason I don’t feel right due to past experiences, not with the guild itself but with the site owner (where the guild is hosted), which still affects me from time to time.
